Yoga photography at Olympia show

There is something about photographing a yoga event. There is so much going on – so much to capture – all the colours, all the shapes and so many formations that just happen to evolve.

I was at the yearly Yoga show 2010 in Olympia to cover Hot Power Yoga London; Dylan Ayaloo and his team of teachers as they where teaching classes, doing stage performances and leading a slot in the infamous Yogathhon. It’s always a challenge to photograph yoga – so much is going on and movements change so quickly. I like that. I like looking for different compositions taking shape in all the movements.

The infamous Yogathon! 108 sets of sun salutation raising money for charity – or about 3 hrs of consistent yoga – with different teachers taking a 10 minute slot each on the centre stage, leading the participators with a bit of a twist of their own style mixed in….
