wedding at Oshwal centre in Potters bar – Hindu wedding photographer London – Day 1 Capucine and Channa.
The best thing for multi cultural couples must be the chance to celebrate your marriage with two different weddings! On day one, Capucine married her Sri Lankan/English man Channa with a colourful Hindu ceremony to honour his family roots. And it was an extra exciting day for me as well – since this was my first Hindu wedding to photograph! 🙂 And I’ve gotta admit that I have a weak spot for ceremonies that are really close to nature – it’s just very cute and down to earth somehow.
It was a first for me to photograph a wedding at the Oshwal centre in Potters bar, Hertfordshire – and I loved the area. Lots of great spots for portraits with the temple, wild forests and a pretty garden as backdrops.
I met with Capucine in one of the Oshwal centre’s basement rooms in the morning, where she was getting ready together with her family that had just arrived from France…
In the meanwhile upstairs, the families where greeted by a welcome ceremony, followed by a ceremony between Channa and the bride’s brother. You could be forgiven for thinking that it is the boys marrying each other, as they are exchanging garlands and rings, but this is a ceremony where the bride’s brother welcome the groom as a “new brother” to their family.
